Thank you for offering such comprehensive information on this important drug. We should all be as knowledgeable as possible about the drugs we use for our animals and ourselves. I started using Ivermectin injectable a few years ago to effectively prevent heartworms in my 8 dogs primarily to save money. I was amazed when I started reading about the many uses of this “wonder drug”. I continue to follow studies related to this drug and others we often use in our animals. Thanks again for your dedication to knowledge.

I weigh 150 lbs. I am a 69-year-old female. I took 9m of Ivermectin for a suspected parasite. I am experiencing headaches, neck pain, and a tight band on my head. I have Sjögren’s. I am concerned it has crossed my brain barrier. Will this pass?

please mention that if taking ivermectin, to avoid both turmeric and grapefruit juice. This is important. Drugs.comis one of the few sites that mentions this potentially dangerous (IMO) interaction. Ivermectin is extremely neurotoxic but the brain is protected by the blood brain barrier, otherwise ivermectin would be fatal. However both turmeric and grapefruit juice downregulate the protection given by the BBB, leading to potential toxicity. I had horrible, debilitating and long lasting (close to 2 years) neurotoxic side effects from overuse of ivermectin, in conjunction with consumption of grapefruit juice (nobody told me). . Do NOT exceed the dose for your body weight and also I would suggest to avoid prolonged use.

I SUFFER FROM TRICHINOSIS [ROUNDWORM] THAT ARE LIVING IN THE HYPODERMIS LAYER OF MY SKIN.
I CAUGHT THESE ROUNDWORMS THROUGH EATING WILD BOAR AT A BARBECUE AND THEY MIGRATED FROM MY INTESTINES TO MY HYPODERMIS LAYER.
I WAS PRESCRIBED IVERMECTIN TABLETS [5X3mg] WHICH DID NOT KILL OFF THESE ADULT WORMS, IS THERE ANY OTHER MEDICATION OR CREAM I CAN TAKE TO DESTROY THESE WORMS.

Many barn cats have died after ingesting horse wormer containing ivermectin. If you have this around your house/barn, please make sure your cats do not come into contact with it.
