I replaced Camellia Sinensis with rooibos tea, decaf coffee with chicory and chocolate with carob. I am not ‘thoroughly disappointed’ by its taste, on the contrary. Made with rice-hazelnut milk it has a similar color and texture but is a bit sweeter and milder, more ‘beany’, with a similar toasty rich, dark, slightly bitter piquancy that proves to be, for me at least, as satisfying as chocolate. It’s its own thing, obviously. But then, you don’t expect spelt to taste exactly the same as wheat, either. Thanks for the info.
