I am a bit confused about this article not including the risks discussed for MCT oil by Joe Cohen in:
https://selfhack.com/blog/mct-oil-may-create-food-allergies/

I wonder if caprylic acid is different from MCT regarding the food allergies?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated on this point

In addition, caprylic acid (C8) has been demonstrated to have an effect raising NAD+ (nicotinamide riboside) concentration in the brain. It also results in a decreasing level of the reduced form of NAD (NADH). Increasing NAD+ while decreasing NADH, results in a beneficially higher NAD+/NADH ratio. “As NAD is an important energetic and signaling modulator, these results provide mechanistic clues how nutritional ketosis might contribute to the preservation of brain health” (“Nutritional Ketosis Increases NAD+/NADH Ratio in Healthy Human Brain: An in Vivo Study by 31P-MRS,” Frontiers in Nutrition, v.5, 2018, B. Cuenoud, et al). Nicotinamide Riboside is a readily available nutritional supplement from multiple suppliers.

What effect can it have on the skin afflictions that have resulted from my taking Zoloft? After 5 weeks, I was plagued by treebark like itchy red skin , hive like bumps, ulcerations , etc. No anaphylaxis etc. I stopped the Zoloft , after reading that extra-seratonin in mice causes itchy skin , and testimonials with similar tales . Thanks Joe ! The Zoloft was fantastic, I hate to give it up.
