Borax is high in boron. So yes, borax is toxic if ingested undiluted or in such high concentrations that one overdoses on boron. 1 tsp of powdered borax contains several grams of boron. But no one should take borax in its concentrated form anyway. This is true of many supplements, herbs, and vitamins. The one study cited admits: “The borax concentrations of 0.1, 0.15, 0.2, 0.3 and 0.6 mg/ml were tested in this study. These doses were HIGH as compared to being used as food additive but it is likely that due to high consumption it may be accumulative.” In my opinion, a study that effectively saturates blood cells with borax (boron) in such high doses is not a valid study. It would be like doing a study on drinking 2 gallons of water in 1 hour. Yes, water is deadly under the right conditions, but I still choose to risk drinking it. Haha. Suggested method of dosage is taking only 1 tsp. of powdered borax and mixing in 1 quart of distilled water. Then mixing 1 tsp from this quart “concentrate” into another quart of water. 1 tsp of this solution has 3mgs of boron (not 10s of grams as in the study). This extremely diluted solution and application is probably as different from the study parameters as water is to battery acid. Thanks.
