Baking soda can be a good quick remedy for heartburns with a little to no side effects. But I think you should consider asking your physician for a better solution because you may have other medical condition. Get checked for proper medical advice and treatment for your condition.

Within a week my pH level was a perfect 7.3 and was hardly requiring my puffers for asthma. My psoriasis was also improving. Sleeping better with less interruptions and my appetite returned. Using litmus strip I learned that I was in a constant acidic state of about 4 % and had terrible daytime fatigue. After i bwgan drinking the tonic my pH alkaline state was in check and my overall health improving. I read an article recently the scared me from drinking the tonic. The article said sodium bicarbonate can cause sudden death! I stopped drinking the tonic and have returned to a constant state of acidosis so want to begin drinking the tonic again. I can’t help but wonder if certain articles are written to scare people from getting healthy naturally. The article must have been written by a big pharma company. How dangerous is a small amount of baking soda each day for me? Charles

1/3 rd tea spoon 3 times a day for 6 months
with half a glass of water with no known
ill effects. Tastes a little salty, that’s all.
I initially took it To help with my psoriasis
Which had broken out into rashes on my arms and legs quite badly and after a short time rashes started diminishing and now have totally gone. Oh my psoriasis problems have not totally cleared but the rashes did.
I recommend it.

J Immunol April 16, 2018, ji1701605; DOI: https://doi.org/10.4049/jimmunol.1701605

showing that sodium bicarb orally activates a splenic anti-inflammatory pathway T-lymphocytes increased in the spleen, blood, and kidneys of rats. (as demonstrated in rats). The response is thought NOT from the actual alkalization, but from the activation of the mesothilial cells. similar anti-inflammatory changes in macrophage results were obtained from humans after ingestion also.

After reading reasearcher James DiNicoliantonios’ book , The Salt Fox, I tried supplementing salt and noticed better heart rate variability, better heat tolerance and stop getting light headed when standing. As for the stomach acid overall a wave in one direction often causes the reverse effect in the longer term, which is interesting because BOTH baking soda and beataine HCL (taken away from each other) fix my reflux.

Sodium cause rise in blood pressure (at leat temporary) and my worsen autoimmune problems by increasing th17 immune response.
Also bicarbonate acts as an atacid, it reduces acidity of stomach which is a bad thing, because acidity is a protecting from harmfull bacteria (for example helicobacter like low acidity). Lower stomach acidity means lower immunity and problems with digesting and absorbing nutrients, also problems with slower metabolism. Indigested products in our system can cause body to extend period of acid and bile secretion and cause heartburn and acid reflux.
