Thanks and best regards,

Lung conditions: Bacopa might increase fluid secretions in the lung. There is concern that this could worsen lung conditions such as asthma or emphysema.

The thing I don’t like about looking at one ingredient or one supplement in exclusion is that our bodies are so complicated and most nutrients work in synergy with other compounds. Here is a great research article showing the synergy of 5 herbals and how they measure up individually and then how together they work in synergy. They naturally activate the Nrf2 pathway and significantly increase cellular glutathione levels. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0891584908006734?via%3Dihub
Great product to reduce oxidative stress, reduce inflammation, and promote health-with a scientific mixologist looking at quantities and doses in relation to each other so we don’t need to experiment on ourselves. I would love to share more…

Hi Rick, a couple of the human trials used dosages around 300-450 mg/day. But there was one that used a 4 g dosage. Most of the available supplements come in that potency (250-500 mg). So that dosage isn’t too strange. I’ll go ahead and add the 300-450 mg dosage in so people can get an idea of a more common dosage. Thanks for your comment!

You are saying you take 20 – 40 capsules daily?

Many companies provide a CoA showing lead content, since this is such a well documented issue. Also, bacoside content can vary quite a bit between brands, another reason to seek out the CoA. And then there’s the issue of whole herb vs extracts.

Or works it more like a modulator ?
Thanks.

A dosage of 500 mg gave me a lot of energy in the morning, which soon became an untenable drive that wouldn’t stop, my stress and anxiety worsened and I finally got depressed, exhausted and very irritated, accompanied with a lot of muscle tension and twitches in the face. Thus no relaxation. Thus disrupted sleep. Also got heart palpations. In the past, I experienced the same with Ritalin, which is a dopamine enhancer.

I desperately need to find a supplement that will work for me, and I thought that bacopa might it, but my serotonin is already high, so if I’m reading this study right, bacopa won’t work for me. Please advise. In case I can’t attach the study properly, the title of it is, “Molecular Docking of Bacosides with Tryptophan Hydroxylase: A Model to Understand the Bacosides Mechanism” (author, David Mary Rajathei et al.) http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4111882/
